Studies Show That Husbands Stress Women Twice As Much As Children

Unfortunately, many women feel like they are a parent to their partners as well, and lack their support. This drains their energy and causes stress on a daily basis.

Marriage is as demanding as motherhood for many women, and researchers have found that an average mom rates her stress levels an 8.5 out of 10, and even 46% of the women involved in the study reported that their husbands are causing more stress than their children! Here is a summary of the findings:

3 in every 4 mothers with partners claim that do most of the parenting and household duties
1 in every 5 mothers claims that the main cause of stress is the lack of help from her husband
Mothers claim that most stress is a result of the lack of time to do everything that needs to be done at home

Furthermore, researchers from the University of Padova found that after the death of their wives, the health of husbands deteriorates, while in the opposite case, when women lose their husbands, they actually become healthier and cope with depression and stress easier.

This means that men relied more heavily on their wives.

To solve these issues, and reduce stress, there are more things that can help:

— First of all, partners should split their responsibilities, like doctor appointments, organizing events, homework duties.

If this is not the case, start talking on the subject and explain your husband about the stress you are exposed to on a daily basis. You can make a to-do-list or a shared calendar.

—  Sometimes, men dream of being the best father and husband in the world, but their wives do not trust them enough to give them important responsibilities.

Therefore, resists the temptation to do all by yourself in order to be done perfectly, and ask your partner to step in and make his contribution.

—  Many couples leave their relationship behind and mainly focus on parenthood, which is a huge mistake.

Remember that you are partners and you are individuals too, so make sure you spend some time for yourself, and some time dedicated to your partner only. You need to keep this connection strong in order to have a strong basis of your family.

  1. This seemed to be more of one of those either freshman projects done in sociology or psych 101 based on surveys instead of true facts. Either that or written by a bunch of desperate heartbroken anti men groups. At first I wanted to stop reading after the first couple lines however I kept reading expecting to find some hard evidence of what was the author’s definition of stress. Yes, when you consider some are usually married longer than they have had their children, they have probably faced many challenges and “stressors” both good and bad more with their husbands or equivalents more so than their kids. After all, my husband not my child stressed me out with having a job not knowing day to day if he would come home alive not only when our son was born he wasn’t as comfortable at first dressing someone so small or putting on the diaper with the smiles facing forward. Of course wives don’t give husbands stress when we are hormonal and whiny and demanding and expecting them to forget all they go through and be at our beck and call when just days before we were super independent and don’t even want a door opened for us. From the beginning men and women have been putting good and bad stress on each other. Medical studies have also shown that to remain physically and mentally healthy we need stress. I have seen articles stating studies have shown husbands have said the same things. Same with in laws. When looked into the source of these studies many were surveys asking vague questions such as which person provides you with more conflict or who do you have an easier time with? Also, stress to one person is not to another. Yes there are times my husband, my kids, my dog, my cat, and even co workers gave out the wrong stress. The truth is humans dish out good and bad stress to each other. The more they try to encourage people by stuff like this the more it will happen.
